FAQ’s

Life Coaching, whether by itself or when combined with the healing attributes of Elan and CCT, is more effective and powerful when you understand what to expect. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions. If you don’t see your question here, please contact me.

What is Life Coaching?

A Life Coach is trained to help you discover the path to your best life. You can buy a truckload of self-help books and DVD’s and still not arrive at your destination. Finding the right Life Coach will enable you to tap into your power and purpose – it’s like having a tour guide to YOU!

How many sessions will I need to get results?

There is no ‘magic number’. For some people, just a few sessions can make a profound difference in their lives. Others may need longer. We are all individuals, with unique life experiences and perspectives.

Are all Life Coaches Certified?

No. At this time, it isn’t required. Although I had always loved helping others, and as an attorney spent a good deal of my working life helping clients navigate through the legal system, I chose to attend the intense training offered by Martha Beck. I completed her well-regarded course and attained my certification.

Why did you add the Elan Healing and CCT to your coaching?

Elan and CCT add a unique dimension to my coaching work. Together, the three work in tandem to heal your body and spirit, which enables you to get more from your coaching sessions and to take your lessons with you throughout your life.

With whom did you train to learn Elan?

The Elan course is taught by Andrew Downey, D.C. Dr. Downey owns a Network Chiropractic practice in Northern California and developed ELAN using the science of Neurology to access the physical body’s ‘memory’ of psychological events. I decided to take his comprehensive course after experiencing the benefits of ELAN myself. It was clear that ELAN could be a powerful complement to Life Coaching.

Where did you learn to do CCT?

CCT was created by Gia Combs-Ramirez, an energy-healer with an international practice. She developed CCT after years of study in the fields of Cranio-Sacral and Somatic Therapy, Reiki, and more. After I was introduced to CCT and saw the differences it made in people and animals, I decided to take her course and incorporate it into my practice.

Why is play so important in coaching?

Play is how all mammals, including humans, learn important life-lessons. By playing, we get to ‘try on’ a new role before actually committing to it. We learn our level of comfort and how we fit in the world before we have to make big changes.

Is it possible to overcome old trauma?

Absolutely! By using Coaching combined with Elan and CCT, many clients have been able to move forward after trauma and become stronger and more free to be the person they wish to be.

How is life coaching different from therapy?

Therapy typically involves revisiting the past – to uncover trauma, feelings and perceptions, then working on those until you arrive at the present. Life Coaching begins with the present – who you are right now – and goes forward. You will explore what you want your life to be like in the future, and learn how to take one step at a time on the road to your destination.

What are some of the reasons your clients hire you?

I’m a good listener. I can stay ’empathetically objective’, meaning that while I understand and feel compassion for my clients, I can keep us both focused on the outcome. My work is my joy – every time a client is able to break free of the beliefs holding them back – I feel I have fulfilled my purpose.
